Based on the manga series of the same name, Toda Erika plays an honest college student, Kanzaki Nao, who receives a hundred million yen one day, along with a card saying she has been chosen to take part in the "Liar Game". The aim of the game is to trick the other players out of their hundred million dollars. At the end, the winner gets the hundred million and the loser is a hundred million yen in debt. The next day, she receives notification that her opponent is her former teacher, Fujisawa Kazuo. She goes to him, seeking help, but ends up getting tricked into handing her money over. Desperate, she approaches the police for help, but they are unable to do anything. However, she is told of a mastermind swindler, Akiyama Shinichi, who is to be released from jail the next day. This is another drama in the current drama season that I like. I've also watched until ep 4 and really can't wait for the next episode. It's a psychological thriller! and I just love drama like this. The first and second episode is basically what the above synopsis is all about. To tell the truth I nearly lose my passion for the second episode because it's a bit slow and nothing really interesting happen. However the 3rd and 4th episode just win me over. The third and fourth ep is on round 2 of the game and what's better the concept of the game is more interesting and the way everything is conducted a.k.a akiyama shinichi genius solving mind is just great :) If you like drama related to mystery or solving puzzle you'll definitely love this. Lol, Nao is just too naive I wonder there exist someone as naive as her in this world.
(Spoiler alert ep1-4: highlight to read) Episode one is okay, it's how Shinichi is trying to put pressure towards the opponent in order to know where he's hiding the money, after constant stalking by Nao who's completely blank on whatever purpose she's doing everything conducted by Nao, they found where the money was hidden. The place where the opponent never want to leave because of the constant stalking. However it was in a lock. This is where ep 2 2 continues... the trick is.. to replace the real card with fake card that stated one hour early of the end of the game so Shinichi can deceive him by sending his own man to take the money at that time. He lose... Nao get 50 million so as Shinichi, which she gave back to the teacher to pay his debt, and Shinichi did the same... he was obviously seems like a cold man but he still has heart as we can see here. After winning the game, Nao get another invitation to the second round if she was to reject she must return the winning money back --which she has given to the teacher. She was deceived once again after asking a help from a police and was sent to the place of second round. Shinichi trying to stop here ended up joining the game as well which provided for MORE SUMS of money with 22 people competing. The game begins, and the concept is minority voting. The majority lose and need to pay 100 million. Being a genius Shinichi came up with a genius idea which is to form a group of eight. At the same time they have to be cautious of the existence of 'x', a person who stole a check from one of the contestant. As the end comes near, it was found out that 'x' was one of their group member, but a genius sees all XD , he departed from the original idea at the last minute and left 'x' being shocked that his idea was spoiled and that the game which left out only 4 people to be start over again. To make things more tension, Shinichi voted first and announcing his vote for everyone to see... what's the outcome? ep 5... oh I really can't wait.. it's getting better...
